About Joegio's Italiano Ristorante

Joegio Italiano is a family run restaurant, situated just minutes from Darlington town centre.

The owner Joe Zafarani has had over 20 years experience in catering. Starting his career in London. During this time, he was responsible for the running of a very busy kitchen which catered for celebrities, like Jimmy Saville and Anne Diamond.

Some years later, Joe moved north to open his own pizzeria, soon operating a couple of shops and later he opened his first Italian restaurant in Consett, County Durham. This was a seventy seat restaurant that offered a warm friendly environment, serving quality food at affordable prices.

After selling his restaurant in 2002, Joe branched out starting a leisure company called Topoli Leisure Ltd, where he and his wife Sandra opened Darlington's biggest soft play centre. The soft play centre has since developed into a very successful full day care nursery and out of schools club.

Joe missed the restaurant business, his passion for food, and socializing with the customers made him refurbish the front part of the ground floor where, the cafe and seating area for the soft play were situated. This is where Joegio Restaurante was re-created. Joe has maintained the values of the Consett based restaurant, offering a warm and friendly environment, with high quality food at affordable prices.

In December 2006, the soft play was closed to public and is now used exclusively for the full day care nursery, out of schools club, restaurant customers and children's parties. The nursery is based on the lower ground floor. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor and is discretely linked top the soft play. For your special occasion, we take bookings, where for a small additional charge you can have the use of the soft play centre. (See special occasions)
